Hey everyone, how are things? It is great here! I think a
few weeks ago I told you that the weather was cooling down...well I lied...it
is back up to the 100's again! I don't even know what the Fall season is
anymore! It has been crazy to know that it is the end of October and we are
walking around and biking in 100-degree weather! What is life? Anyways it is pretty great here despite the
heat!
This week we have been biking and biking and biking!!! It
has been insane! We got our miles cut (We are only allowed a certain number of
miles driven with the car each month), so because of that we haven't been able
to use the car! So, I am getting back into shape! Earlier this week we had an
amazing miracle happen because of biking that I would like to share with you.
The other day we were biking in the heat to one of our
appointments, it was very far away so it took us a long time to get there.
I also had a very terrible cold that I got the night before so I was biking
while holding tissues up to my nose, I looked like an idiot, haha!
We made it to the lesson and had a really great lesson.
Afterwards we needed to knock doors, I really wasn't feeling well and Sister
Aleman was telling me to call President to get permission to go home and rest, but I did not want to do that. I really felt like we needed to knock even if I
had to stop every 3 doors to blow my nose. So that is exactly what we did, we
knocked then stopped, then knocked some more for 2 hours. The very last door
that we knocked on was a sweet Armenian family! They let us right in and had us
teach the whole family! They even fed us DINNER!!!!!! It was an amazing Armenian
soup that helped me feel so much better! It was a double blessing because we
didn't have dinner that night and we were biking and teaching all the way up to
9:00 pm! Let’s all sing the song
together, "There can be miracles when you believe!!!" -Prince of
Egypt
On to the sad part of this email, one of the few times that
we used the car... I got a $75 parking ticket. I was angry because the night
before I had a dream that the car was going to get towed... and I was telling
my dream to Sister Aleman as we walked up to our car with a ticket on it! I was
parked in a neighborhood and the curb was not red, but there was a no parking sign down
the way that was covered by a tree. -_- So now I have to take care of that...
there are a lot more blessings if you bike.
To end this email my parents have informed me today that I
have 99 days left of being a full-time missionary. Where did the time go?!?!
These next 99 days are for sure going to be epic!!! I hope you have an awesome
week, life is great and keep smiling!
Love,
Hermana Hadley
Because we are on bikes, I have been eating a healthy breakfast.
I am very proud of myself :)
I had to do some major cleaning to one of my skirts
that got caught in the bike tire...don't worry mom, I fixed it.
So I live in a city called Van Nuys, this is just Van Nasty.
We found this on our stairs and we think it was human hair...
Our District raised the level to Role Playing. We dressed up to act like normal
people on the street. It was pretty funny and I have a fun District.
Feel free to zoom into see everyones disguise haha!
We had a "Super Saturday" activity. I forgot those were a thing...haha
but I made this really cute caramel apple!!!
My Uncle Sherman's family came to The Valley for Fall Break. He brought some
packages from my family that he dropped off to our Ward Mission Leader.
An early Birthday Package for Sister Aleman! Love them!!!
Mom Note: Surprise pictures we received from the Dalumpines Family this week. The pictures always seem to come when we need them. Love to see our cute missionary working so hard into the late hours on a BIKE!
Pictures from the Vasquez Family who visited her ward on Sunday for their Primary Program! Hyrum, the YSA Ward Missionary Leader, came along to surprise Hermana Hadley! The Vasquez family has made her a part of their family and we love to see her so happy! Sunday, October 22nd marked 100 days left on the mission!
