Can you believe it is December!!! It doesn't look like December here at all! This week we found out about transfers which is always nerve racking. I was pretty sure I was going to get a call and find out I was going to move to a bike area and move to a ward that doesn't have computers to Skype, yay that didn't happen, BUT we are not going to be a trio anymore.
Hermana Beidler is moving to go be an English Speaking Missionary for the YSA (Young Single Adults) for her very last transfer in the mission. She is very excited about this. That left me and Hermana Johnson. We got a call that we will be splitting an area and I will be teaching in one area with a new companion and Hermana Johnson in the other. This will happen on Tuesday and we will all stay in our apartment. I am so happy that I get to stay with the Spanish Branch and this area for a little longer!
We had a crazy adventure as always this last Wednesday. It started with us exchanging back with our STL's (Sister Training Leaders) after studies and then went to Pep Boys Auto Parts to get a piece of metal out of our tire... 3 HOURS LATER!!!!
We were in the middle of nowhere waiting with nothing to do but walk around for 3 hours. They ended up changing our radiator or something, I am not really sure, but we left and hurried to get to our dinner appointment. When we got to our dinner appointment we saw a big puddle under our car and the hood was smoking. So we spent the rest of the night running around getting rides to the mission office to get a backup car and transferring all of our stuff out of the car. It was a crazy night.
Last Thursday we had our district meeting where I was asked to give a training on how we can use the Light the World video and gain Christ-like attributes as missionaries. I talked about how important it is that we take this message and make it apart of us as missionaries and who we are. I used 3 Nephi 24:3 for my training, “And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.”
When someone is purifying sliver the only way you know if it is done is when the refiner can see his reflection in the silver. Silver is different than any other metal and each piece of silver takes a different amount of time. Christ is our refiner to purify us until he can see his reflection in us and then we go and do the same for others.
The Light the World challenge helps us gain Christ-like attributes and become like Him. I have had to be a little creative because you can't do a lot of the things as a missionary but I have seen how much it has already blessed my life and the life of the people we share it to!
It has been a fun week filled with awesome spiritual experiences and growth. Love you all so much and hope you have a great week!
